Palmdale Playhouse Features Uptown, A Celebration of Motown and Soul

PALMDALE, CA — In celebration of Black History Month, the Palmdale Playhouse is excited to announce that the musical talents of Uptown will be taking the stage! We “heard it through the grapevine” that the Palmdale Playhouse, 3833410th St. East, will be the place to be on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m.
“The Playhouse continues to be a place dedicated to enriching our community with diverse cultural experiences,” said Mayor Richard. J Loa. “This performance by Uptown will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the music and artistry that have shaped our history and identity.”
Hailing from New York City, Uptown delivers a fusion of smooth R&B with today’s hottest tracks. Blending the soulful vocals of legends like Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye with the dynamic stage presence of Bruno Mars, their talents are unlikely to leave you “very superstitious.” Each collective member is a soloist, bringing their unique energy to the stage, which is sure to captivate audiences and keep everyone on their feet, dancing and singing along to a wide range of genres and time periods.
“Palmdale is rich in cultural diversity,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt. “We are excited to host such talented individuals for an event that embodies the flavor and excitement of Motown and Soul.”
This special event highlights the enduring cultural influence of music and provides a powerful way to celebrate Black History Month. Join us for an evening that will honor the rich tradition and bring the vibrant sounds of Uptown to life!
