Cullors and Keppel Union School District Possible conflict of interest issue raised.

CONTENT MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE

Letter to the editor:

Pearblossom, CA.- More concerns are being raised with former president of the Keppel Union School District. Ms. Waunette Cullors and her Non- Profit organization.

A contract was brought in 2023 to the school board to do business with Keppel Union School District and Mrs. Culllors non profit organization. If the contract or MOU was approve, was it a conflict of interrest? Did the majority of the board did the right thing not approving the contract or MOU?

The issue:

There is a group of individuals who are trying to enter the Keppel School Board into a million-dollar contract that is a conflict of interest because the proposed contract agency belongs to a Keppel Board member. Ms. Waunette Cullors is a Keppel Board member and her agency, the Wow Flower, is the applicant agency which has belonged to Ms. Cullors since its inception.  

This proposed action is a clear conflict of interest that is completely illegal. For this reason, the action was challenged by a majority of the Keppel School Board. The Board majority voted against the contract and voted to let go without cause, the Superintendent who acted to support the illegal action after she was given an opportunity to rectify her many related questionable actions and she did not.

The solution:

The faction that proposed the illegal contract are angry and are retaliating against the three Board members that acted ethically and legally. We need to support the good and courageous actions of the Board majority during the next Special Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, at 4:30 pm at Lake Los Angeles Elementary School. This school was chosen as the meeting venue because it accommodates many more people than the usual meeting place.

We urge all of you to attend this meeting and support the Board Majority against vile and unfounded attacks that have already been generated that are baseless and divisive. Let’s protect our children’s resources and make sure they are not squandered or use inappropriately and illegally.
