A Vigil to End Human Detention Camps, In front of Congresswoman Katie Hill’s Palmdale office.

Immigration detention poses life-threatening health and safety risks for the tens of thousands of people who are locked up across the country.

There have been at least seven deaths of children in human detention camps.

Recent cases of abuse; scathing reports about conditions, contracting, and inspections in immigration detention; and the blatant overspending of taxpayer dollars reveal pervasive problems and no solutions planned.

ACLU Antelope Valley does not stand nor tolerate these deplorable, unsafe, and unsanitary detention camps under the supervision of the federal government, and in many cases, run by for-profit companies.

On this Friday, July 12 at 7 pm, the Antelope Valley chapter of ACLU is hosting the local Lights for Liberty: A Vigil to End Human Detention Camps. Everyone is welcome as a peaceful demonstration of our outrage that our government is willfully abusing children. Community leaders will speak throughout the event.
