Courson Park Set to Reopen with Walk on Words Poem Unveiling

PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale will host a grand re-opening celebration for Courson Park, located at 38226 10th St. East, on Thursday, July 11 at 8:30 am. It is free and open to the public. Highlighting the festivities will be the unveiling of the latest installment of the City’s “Walk on Words” poetry contest. The winning poem, with the theme of “Neighborhoods” will be stamped in concrete. City staff will offer fun activities for all ages. Music will be provided by the Gabriel House Band. “In the spirit of community, come out and meet your neighbors for this special occasion,” said Palmdale’s Recreation Coordinator Rachel Serrano. “We also encourage anyone that helped during the two Courson Park beautification days to come out and see how your hard work is making a difference in your community.” For more information, please call the recreation and culture office at 661/267-5611, Monday through Thursday between 7:30 am and 6 pm. -30-
