Today, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Carlos Chung found that the defendant was sane during the commission of the crime after a sanity court trial.

Victim Lyndi Fisher, 36, was strangled by the defendant after she arrived at his home for the appliance repair on July 14, 2017, the prosecutor said. A month prior, Fisher had repaired an appliance at Hughes’ home, the prosecutor added. Case MA071692 was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
