A suspect was arrested in the Santa Clarita area before he had chance to victimize residents.

Observant sergeant nabs suspect - before he has chance to victimize others. An LASD Parks Bureau sergeant was patrolling through a Castaic shopping center parking lot located just off I-5, at The Old Road/Hasley Canyon Sunday night, when something caught his eye - he saw a man parked in a car with Georgia license plates who appeared to be intensely watching customers frequenting a Bank of America ATM. After continuing to keep a watchful eye on the man, the sergeant decided to approach the vehicle. As he got closer to the car, he smelled the apparent odor of marijuana. Upon making the contact with the man, the sergeant learned the man didn't have a driver's license and no ties to the SCV area. But what the driver did have was a firearm sitting next to him in a bag.

Courtesy of : SCV LASD Long story short, the man was taken to jail, thanks to the sergeant who acted as a 'guardian' to the Castaic community last night. Lesson: Always remain vigilant to your surroundings, especially when using bank ATM's. You never know who is watching. Be safe SCV.
