WINTER STORM WARNING Until Saturday.
Palmdale,CA.- The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING from 7pm Tuesday to 4pm Saturday.
Snow levels could fall to 1,500' by Wednesday morning with accumulations of 1-5" by Wednesday night.
Heavier snowfall expected on Thursday night through Saturday with the potential accumulation of 6-12" at elevations between 2,000 and 4,000 feet. (as an example, the Le Chene restaurant on Sierra Hwy is at an elevation of around 2,300')
This may result in the closure of the 14 between Agua Dulce and Palmdale.

and Mount Wilson
* WHAT...Winds gusting as high as 75 mph. Snow level falling to 1500 feet by Wednesday morning with accumulations of 1 to 5 inches through Wednesday night, then periods of heavy snowfall especially late Thursday through Saturday with fluctuating snow levels. By Saturday night 2-5 feet of total snow accumulation is likely above 4000 ft with isolated amounts near 7 feet at higher elevations. Accumulations of 6-12 inches are likely between 2000- 4000 feet by Saturday night.
Significant snowfall is expected across most major mountain passes.
* WHERE...Ventura County Mountains and Los Angeles County Mountains.
* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 4 PM PST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible, with the potential for widespread road closures and travel delays, including a large portion of Interstate 5 from Castaic to the Grapevine as well as the Highway 14 corridor from Agua Dulce to Palmdale. Strong winds could cause tree damage and significant blowing and drifting snow. The very heavy snow at higher elevations will bring an increased risk of avalanche activity, mainly Thursday night into Friday night.
