“Through My Eyes: A Visual Journey of Recovery and Renewal” Art Exhibit on Display at the Palmdale Playhouse

PALMDALE, CA — The City of Palmdale is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibit “Through My Eyes: A Visual Journey of Recovery and Renewal” by local photographer David Emenheiser at the Playhouse, located at 38334 10th St. East, starting Jan. 9.

“Uplifting the local community is at the heart of everything we do at the Playhouse,” said Mayor Richard J. Loa. “I highly encourage residents to come out and experience David’s incredible story through his photographs.”

David Emenheiser, owner of David Joseph Photo, battled drug addiction for 20 years before finding new life through the lens of a camera. Photography became a passion and a vital part of his recovery, providing him with a fresh perspective on how to capture the beauty of the world. David gives all the glory to God for using photography to help him break free from addiction and for providing a creative outlet to navigate stress. His wife Darlene, his biggest supporter, helped him discover his love for photography and supported him in opening his business. David began his work as a landscape photographer but now explores many different styles of photography, from weddings to portraits, aviation and events.

“We are a community full of artists and creatives,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt. “I am thrilled that the Playhouse is spotlighting local creative talent and uplifting their work through exhibits and receptions where families can personally meet talented and inspirational locals like David.”

The Playhouse will hold an art reception on Thursday, Jan. 9, from 6-8 p.m., where visitors can meet David and hear more of his story. “Through My Eyes: A Visual Journey of Recovery and Renewal” will be on display through Thursday, March 6.
