The Usage Of OHV, ATV And Motorcycles.
Palmdale Station receives multiple calls for service regarding Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV).
These complaints include noise and dust, trespassing, property damage, children without helmets, ATV's disrupting horse riders, and off-road vehicles ridden on the public streets. We do our best to contact and educate these riders, issuing citations when necessary.
We understand ATV, UTV and motorcycle use has become much more popular with the COVID pandemic restricting other activities.
We would like to remind the public that ATV and motorcycle use is legal on your OWN property, with respect to noise and dust considerations of your neighbors. It is also legal in off-road riding areas such as Rowher Flats OHV Staging Area, Gorman State OHV park, El Mirage Dry Lake and marked roads in the Angeles National Forest.
ATV, UTV and motorcycle use is NOT legal on streets and highways (unless they are registered with a CA plate displayed and the proper lights), public or private property (without written permission from the property owner) in all other areas of LA County.
Our OHV Team will continue to be out in the community being vigilant, patrolling the county and responding to calls for service regarding Off-Highway Vehicles.
We are committed to safe and legal use of these vehicles, for the benefit of all residents.
