The last-ever penny is being minted today in Philadelphia

Palmdale, CA.- The U.S. Mint is set to strike the last circulating penny in Philadelphia on Wednesday.

The penny, despite its humble value of one cent, will remain legal tender and retain its value indefinitely, according to the Treasury Department. However, it will no longer be minted.
