Lake Los Angeles – Stephen Sorensen Community Regional Park – Senior Center – Pictured is Mrs. Rosie Mainella who brings Living with Health Wellness and Wholeness workshops to the seniors in the community.

Every Thursday, Mrs. Mainella conducts her workshops in English and Spanish. The English starts at 10:00am, the Spanish starts at 11:30am.

There are two modules. The first module has 13 parts, the second has 17 parts. The seniors have completed the first 13 parts and are well into the 17 parts. You can join at any point in the discussions. Each session has a full house of participants.

The sessions are held in the Our SPOT lounge, which is furnished in a relaxed way, with a comfortable couch and chairs, where it is quiet and peaceful and especially pleasant with a backdrop of the new mural that brings an exceptional touch of art.

Mrs. Mainella said, “What is said here stays here. What you learn you can share with others for the benefit of others. Still, what is said in this room stays in this room.”

Topics include preserving your memory, good sleep for emotional wellbeing, how much is too much, managing medication, grief and loss, social isolation and many more.

This is all part of the United Mental Health Promoters Discover program Paths to Well-Being, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, bringing hope, recovery and wellbeing to all. There is no charge for participating.
