The City of Palmdale Addresses Potential Damage and Provides Resources to Residents

PALMDALE, CA – In response to incidents of damage due to the recent storm, the City of Palmdale is committed to supporting our residents and ensuring their safety and well-being. Palmdale’s maintenance staff are currently working to investigate and clear up damage caused by Tropical Storm Hilary in our public rights-of-way, parks, detention basins, and green spaces. We understand that concerns and uncertainties may arise during such times, and we want to provide the necessary resources and assistance to our community members.

Reporting Damage:

Residents are encouraged to report any damage caused by recent weather-related incidents to their insurance company unless it is directly related to city property or right-of-way. If you suspect damage that could impact life safety or structural integrity, we urge you to contact your local Los Angeles County Fire Department (LAFD) station immediately; search the nearest station at https://locator.lacounty.gov/fire. Trained personnel from LAFD will be dispatched to evaluate the situation and take appropriate measures to ensure public safety. If needed, they will forward calls to the relevant departments such as Building and Safety, Housing, and Economic Development.

Housing/Building and Safety Contact Information:

If you have questions or concerns about housing, please call the Housing division at 661/267-5126. For issues related to structural integrity and safety that are not life-threatening, contact our Building and Safety team at 661/267-5353.

Reporting Public Works Issues:
