The 1994 Northridge Earthquake Anniversary.

It was 4:31 a.m. on a Monday, and many commuters were heading to work (down below) Los Angeles, Northridge, San Fernando .

A 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck the San Fernando Valley 27 years ago today claiming many lives and causing widespread damage through LA County. That was felt as far away as San Diego and Las Vegas. The epicenter was Northridge, the quake killed at least 57 people, injured 8,700, left 20,000 homeless, heavily damaged critical freeways, and caused $20 billion in damage.
