Statement on Recent Incident at Palmdale Sheriff’s Station

Lancaster, CA. September 16, 2023 — The City of Lancaster is deeply saddened and shocked by the recent incident involving a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Palmdale Deputy. It is with heavy hearts that we extend our deepest condolences to the deputy’s family and colleagues during this devastating time.

“We are heartbroken by the loss of one of our City’s protectors,” said Mayor R. Rex Parris. “We join our entire community in expressing our profound sorrow and support for the deputy’s family and loved ones. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers our dedicated law enforcement officers face daily in their commitment to safeguarding our communities. We stand with our brothers and sisters at the LASD and offer our full assistance.”
