Lake Los Angeles – On Monday, June 29, 2026, at SBCC’s location in Lake Los Angeles at 16845 East Avenue M-8, a baby shower was held for new mothers and expectant mothers and hosted by me and Adrian Falcon.

Everybody had a good time and really enjoyed themselves. Mothers got to communicate and ask each other questions. It was a great turnout.
Attended by 4 new mothers, 3 expectant mothers, 5 well behaved siblings, and 3 mothers/grandmothers.
We played guess how many pompoms were in the jar and a clothes pin "don't say baby" game. There was a children's corner for the siblings to play quietly.
Everyone was able to paint a muslin burp cloth though some mothers preferred to keep them 100% natural cotton without paint.
The mothers all received a vast array of baby items including nursing pillows, diapers and diapering supplies, baby clothes, and personal items for new mothers.
Water, lemonade, pound cake, watermelon and pineapple were available for snacking.
The mothers were very thankful for the gift bags. One expectant mother commented on how appreciative she was as she was new to the area and didn't have anyone nearby to throw her a baby shower.
We look forward to hosting other new and expectant mothers with another baby shower sometime in about 3 months.
Thank you, Michelle, from Save the Children, for the beautiful photo back drop with the balloon sculpture.
