PALMDALE, Calif. — The Antelope Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (AVHCC) is marking a leadership transition following this year’s California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Convention and Installation, held in Oakland, California.

AV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President Sylvia Duarte attended the convention for the final time in her role as a regional director as she completes her term of service with the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce.

Duarte has represented the Antelope Valley business community at the regional and statewide level, helping strengthen connections between local businesses and the broader Hispanic business community throughout California.

As Duarte terms out of the regional director position, Sandra Avery of Bravery Brewing has been elected to fill the position and represent the region, including the Inland Empire and the Antelope Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

“It is my absolute pleasure and honor to announce that I have been elected as a Director for the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, representing our region,” Avery said. “I look forward to working alongside fellow leaders to support, advocate for and help strengthen our Hispanic business community. I am honored and excited for what lies ahead!”

The Antelope Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, based in Palmdale, serves businesses throughout the Antelope Valley, with a special focus on supporting the continued growth and success of Hispanic-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.

The Chamber works to connect business owners with networking opportunities, resources, advocacy, education and partnerships that can help businesses start, grow and succeed.

The leadership transition provides an opportunity to recognize Duarte’s service and contributions while welcoming Avery into her new regional role.
