Palmdale, California - A local nonprofit organization, Salva, is helping Antelope Valley residents with rental assistance, thanks to $1 million in Emergency Rental and Flexible Financial Assistance distributed by the Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency (LACAHSA). This funding aims to support renter households in Los Angeles County who are at risk of eviction or displacement.

The allocation brings the total funds approved for homelessness prevention and renter protections in 2025 to $29.5 million, supporting thousands of individuals across the LA county. Salva, with its office in Palmdale, has been conducting outreach to residents in need of rental assistance .

The Emergency Rent Relief Program provides financial assistance to eligible tenants and landlords.

Andrea Alarcon, Councilmember for District 5 in the City of Palmdale, attended today’s event. She began assisting residents with their rental assistance paperwork.

“With skyrocketing prices for gas, food and everyday essentials, many of our hard working residents are living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to keep a roof over their heads. Nothing is more important than to have a place to call home. Today, it was an honor to volunteer for SALVA and literally cut checks to more than 20 local families for a combined total of over $80,000 to protect them from the heartbreaking threat of eviction.” Said

My sincere thanks to SALVA for bringing these critical, life saving resources to the people of Palmdale and the Antelope Valley. Because of SALVA, many parents and their kids will have a safe place to rest their heads tonight.” Councilmember Andrea Alarcon

“We are delighted to have this grant to support antelope valley families in need of rent assistance. Anyone, regardless of their immigration status, can apply. To qualify, families must provide proof of their housing documents and a they must demonstrate a genuine need for priority housing, almost evicted , health and behind on rent. Once the application is approved, the check will be directly disbursed to the landlord.” Said Felix Menendez from Salva
