PWD’S INAUGURAL H2GO 5K EVENT WINS PR AWARD

Palmdale, CA – Palmdale Water District (PWD) is proud to announce
that it has received a PRism Award of Excellence from the Public Relations
Society of America – Los Angeles (PRSA-LA) Chapter for the 2026 H2GO 5K
Run. This marks the fifth year in a row that PWD’s Public Affairs team has
been recognized with a PRSA award.
During last night’s 62nd Annual PRSA-LA PRism Awards ceremony in
Hollywood, PWD was presented the Award of Excellence in the category of
Community Relations in Government for its H2GO 5K Run that was attended
by more than 350 people this past June at Lake Palmdale.
“Our two-person Public Affairs team never fails to amaze us with
their achievements, whether it’s winning awards or successfully creating
and holding PWD’s first-ever 5K event from scratch,” said General Manager
Dennis D. LaMoreaux. “At PRSA, they compete with large corporate
teams and top PR agencies in Los Angeles, and they bring back awards year after year.
The Board of Directors and I are proud of their success and appreciate their dedication.”
The annual PRSA-LA awards program recognizes the Los Angeles region’s excellence in
public relations, strategic campaigns, tactical programs and professional merit. More than 500
top public relations professionals belong to the L.A. Chapter. This year’s winners were selected
by an independent panel of judges from a sister PRSA chapter.
PWD Public Affairs Director Judy Shay and Public Affairs Specialist Michelle Trejo led the
creative vision, strategic planning and coordination that brought the H2GO 5K Run to life,
turning an idea into a successful community experience.
“We are so excited to receive this prestigious award from PRSA-LA,” Shay said. “To be
recognized for an event that we worked so hard on feels wonderful. We share this honor with
our many coworkers who helped at the 5K.
