Person of interest detained in Lake Los Angeles shooting that left 3 people dead

Palmdale, CA. Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department are seeking assistance with locating Axel Trevino.

Axel Trevino is a person of interest in a triple homicide and is believed to be driving the vehicle pictured above.

on Sunday August 17, 2025 Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies reported that they were called to 215th Street East and E. Palmdale Boulevard, in a vacant lot near Lake Los Angeles, at around 4:45 p.m. after receiving reports of gunshots. 

When they arrived, they found three people, sitting inside two different cars, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, deputies said.

All three victims were declared dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics. 

Three Shooting Victims in Lake Los Angeles Identified

Three homeless people found shot dead in a vacant lot in an unincorporated desert area south of Lancaster were identified Tuesday by county authorities.

The victims were identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office as Juan Arteaga Diaz, 44; Nazario Ramirez, 54; and Beverly Cassese, 65.
