Palmdale Seeks Applicant for Mobile Home Park Rental Review Board

PALMDALE, CA – The City of Palmdale is now accepting applications from community members to serve a two-year term on the Mobile Home Park Rental Review Board.
This five-member Board, appointed by the Mayor with City Council approval, plays a crucial role in implementing and enforcing Palmdale Municipal Code Section 5.44. Board members review special rent increase applications for mobile home parks and make recommendations to the City Council.
“We are looking for a responsible individual who understands the importance of fair housing practices and can contribute to our community's well-being,” said Mayor Austin Bishop. “This is an opportunity to positively impact the lives of our mobile home park residents.”
Applicants must reside within Palmdale City limits and have no financial interests or familial ties to mobile home parks, as defined by Palmdale Municipal Code Section 5.44.030 and state law. A fundamental knowledge of business accounting is required.
Board members receive a stipend of $100 per meeting, with the Chair receiving $150. The Board holds an annual public meeting in February and additional meetings as needed. As part of the selection process, applicants must pass a Livescan fingerprint submission and, if appointed, file a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700).
