Palmdale Road Construction Update.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

FOR THE WEEK OF JAN. 12 - 18, 2021

GENERAL ROAD CONSTRUCTION:

1 – Pearblossom Highway from the California Aqueduct bridge to Valley Springs Road

Full closure of Pearblossom Hwy. from the California Aqueduct bridge to Valley Springs Road for roadway reconstruction work, starting June 12, 2020 and continuing through February 2021.

While Pearblossom Hwy. is closed, passenger vehicles will be detoured to Avenue S at Sierra Hwy. and Fort Tejon Rd. Local access will be provided to residents in the construction area, as needed and as construction permits. Travelers/commuters are advised to expect delays and to take alternate routes where possible. Avenue R, Avenue S, Palmdale Blvd/SR-138, Avenue P, or Avenue M are alternate east/west routes through the City to consider.

Commercial trucks having a manufacturer’s gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or more must stay on designated truck routes, such as Sierra Hwy., Palmdale Blvd ./ SR-138, 47th St. East / SR-138, and Fort Tejon Rd. / SR-138 (see Title 10 of the Palmdale Municipal Code). Avenue S and Avenue R are not designated truck routes. Trucks are permitted on non-truck routes when it is the shortest and most direct route to perform a pickup or delivery. 2 – 40th Street East at Pearblossom Highway

Construction work on the Pearblossom Rebuild Project at 40th Street East. East/west travel on Pearblossom Hwy. through 40th Street East is closed through Jan. 20, 2021. North/south travel on 40th Street East through Pearblossom Hwy. is open.

3 – Pearblossom Highway East of 47th Street East

Intermittent shoulder closure on the north side of Pearblossom Highway east of 47th Street East for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

4 – 47th Street East north of Pearblossom Highway

Intermittent shoulder closure on the east side of 47th Street East north of Pearblossom Highway for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

5 – East Avenue S-8 west of Shooting Star Way

Intermittent shoulder closure on the north side of East Avenue S-8 west of Shooting Star Way for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

6 – East Avenue R-4 east of Lemsford Avenue

Intermittent shoulder closure on the north side of East Avenue R-4 east of Lemsford Avenue for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

7 – Dominic Massari Park

Intermittent closures on walking paths at Dominic Massari Park east of the basketball courts between the little league and the field house for park tree trimming.

8 – Rancho Vista Boulevard from 15th Street West to 30th Street West

There will be intermittent lane closures for various remaining street work. Please slow down, obey the traffic control, and expect delays. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

9 – Division Street and Avenue R

Intermittent lane closures for street and utility construction. Please slow down, obey the traffic control, and expect delays. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

10 – 35th Street East from Palmdale Boulevard to Avenue Q-12

Intermittent lane and shoulder closures for street improvements and traffic signal construction at Avenue Q-10.
