Palmdale City Offices Closed on Dec. 24-Jan. 2 for Christmas and New Year’s Holiday

Palmdale, CA-Administrative and business offices of the City of Palmdale will be closed from Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Jan. 2, in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays and part of a cost-saving unpaid furlough. Regular business hours will resume Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.

Palmdale Library will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1. Regular hours will resume Friday, Jan. 2.

Legacy Commons for Active Seniors will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Thursday, Jan. 1. Senior boxed lunches are available for pickup with an advance reservation, which can be made by calling 661/948-2320. Regular operations will resume on Friday, Jan. 2.

South Antelope Valley Emergency Services (SAVES) will be closed for regular services starting Monday, Dec. 15, and will resume regular operations on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026. Drive-thru food distributions will be offered on Monday, Dec. 22 and Monday, Dec. 29 from 2-4 p.m. Starting Tuesday, Jan. 6, SAVES will distribute drive-thru food on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. Visit www.CityOfPalmdaleCA.gov/SAVES for detailed information, including how to sign up for services or locate a food distribution location during the holidays.

During the closures and furloughs, public works crews will be available to address any emergencies, including sewer overflows, roadway and right-of-way hazards, downed signs, potholes and broken sprinkler lines in City parks or landscaped areas. Many City services are available online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
