Palmdale City Council Votes to Investigate Mayor Loa, Temporarily Remove Duties

Palmdale, CA.- The Palmdale City Council has voted to temporarily investigate Mayor Loa and remove him from all duties and committees.

“We discuss initiating an investigation into confidential allegations against the mayor, and temporarily removing him from his mayoral duties and committee assignments pending the outcome of the investigation.” Said Council member Alarcon

Palmdale City Attorney Alexandra Halfman requested Mayor Loa to recuse himself from a confidential agenda item due to an alleged conflict of interest. Loa questioned the inclusion of the item and its level of confidentiality.

Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt will assume mayoral duties temporarily while the investigation continues.
