PALMDALE, CA — The City of Palmdale broke ground Monday on an exciting new attraction at DryTown Water Park. The dynamic three-slide tower promises to deliver high-octane fun when it opens in time for the start of the 2026 summer season.

The $4.4 million project represents the City’s continued investment in providing world-class recreation amenities that respond directly to the community’s needs and priorities.

The new tower features three distinct slide experiences:

  • Freefall - A steep, high-speed drop for maximum exhilaration

  • AquaTube - A twisting ride through enclosed translucent tubes

  • Pool Slider - A smooth and speedy body slide for riders

The Palmdale City Council unanimously approved the new attraction during its meeting on June 3, following strong community support for enhancing the City’s most popular recreational facility.

“DryTown Water Park has been a cherished summer tradition in the Antelope Valley for more than 25 years,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt. “This investment represents our commitment to providing high-quality entertainment that strengthens family bonds, supports tourism and delivers the recreation opportunities that our community deserves.”

The new slides will incorporate modern water and energy-saving technology, supporting Palmdale’s ongoing efforts towards environmentally conscious development and sustainable recreation. The City is proud to partner with industry leaders on this project, including WhiteWater West, MNS Engineers, Inc. and Bergman Construction.

As the Antelope Valley’s only water park, DryTown is an essential summer destination for families to have fun, cool off and make lasting memories. For more information about the park or to take advantage of our lowest prices on 2026 season passes, visitwww.DryTownWaterPark.com.
