Palmdale Boulevard - Here is a list of what is being done on Palmdale Boulevard at various locations with safety and reduction of accidents, injuries and fatalities in mind while still moving traffic:
Palmdale Boulevard – Vision Zero Safety Enhancements
1. Palmdale Boulevard from 87th Street East to 90th Street East and from 125th Street East to 130th St East have been identified as Collision Concentration Corridors in the County Vision Zero Action Plan.
2. Traffic safety enhancements along Palmdale Blvd from 60th Street East to 240th Street East, within unincorporated Los Angeles County are currently being planned.
3. Proposed enhancements may include additional warning signage, rumble strips, roadway tightening in school zone, and no passing zones.
4. Reflective strips have been installed to all signal backplates at all signalized intersections of Palmdale Boulevard at 70th Street East, 90th Street East, and 110th Street East.
5. Reflective posts have been installed to signposts of Stop signs at the intersection of Palmdale Boulevard and 170th Street East.
Item 3, which refers to Daisy Gibson Elementary School, and traffic to and from Littlerock High School, has experienced speeding, reckless driving and aggressive driving even during dismissal times.
Item 4, which I think resembles the National Geographic rectangle logo, is highly visible after dark and stands out well in the rural community where there is no street lighting or light pollution.
The next meeting of the North County Transportation Coalition (NCTC), which meets in January 2026, will bring us up to date on the progress on the proposed work.
