Palmdale Adds First of Its Kind Vehicle to Anti-Graffiti Fleet

avdailynews.com

PALMDALE, CA — The City of Palmdale proudly announces the addition of a groundbreaking third truck to its anti-graffiti fleet to keep our community clean and safe. This state-of-the-art vehicle features cutting-edge sustainable technology that captures and repurposes water during graffiti removal, making our cleanup efforts more efficient and environmentally conscious. This new truck joins two others that have recently been put into service as part of our ongoing dedication to combat graffiti in our City.

“We are committed to preserving the natural beauty of our community and will not let tagging get in the way,” said Mayor Austin Bishop. “The addition of this truck will ensure the place we call home remains a pristine place for all residents, while also emphasizing our commitment to sustainable practices.”

The vehicle, built on a Ford F550 platform, is equipped with a 200-gallon water tank, a powerful 3000psi hot water pressure washer unit and an airless paint pump system, all crucial for its innovative water recycling process. Additionally, the truck features the new mobile filtration system, which effectively captures wash water and debris via vacuum power, filtering it for reuse. This advanced technology removes most solids and 99.9% of non-soluble and petroleum-related products without the need for cumbersome and costly filters, allowing the recycled water to be returned to the tank for future cleaning efforts.

Safety remains a top priority, which is why this new vehicle is outfitted with enhanced traffic safety features, including LED beacon lights and a traffic arrow board, ensuring safe operation during graffiti removal activities.

“When we said Palmdale would not tolerate illegal activities, we meant it,” said Mayor Pro Tem Richard J. Loa. “Graffiti is not a victimless crime. The City vows to protect our local businesses and neighborhoods whose livelihoods are impacted by this senseless vandalism.”

Palmdale’s Public Works Maintenance team is committed to delivering top-notch service to residents. The introduction of this new vehicle will enhance operational efficiency, improve service levels and allow the City to combat vandalism in an environmentally responsible way while ensuring compliance with governmental storm drain regulations and protecting our environment from wash water runoff.
