Nan Bull chosen WSD Classified of the Year 2023
Lake Los Angeles – Wilsona School District – Nan Bull started working with the District in 1998 and has worked a number of positions in her Wilsona career.
Nan started out as a noon duty and instructional aide for a grant called “The Pals Playroom” on the then Wilsona campus. Nan noted, “We were basically hired to play with children while observing which child would need more guidance with their inter-personal skills. That turned into a second grant teaching social skills in groups. Self-esteem lessons turned into How to Treat Others skills. All of the Antelope Valley elementary schools took part. The grants moved to Lancaster, and I went there to work at various schools. I returned to Wilsona for the reading lab under the direction of Mrs. Debbie Lopez.
“For 11 years I worked at Twin Lakes Community Church where I was the Children’s Ministry Director and Worship Director.
“In October of 2016 I was hired back into the District with the speech therapist program called Vocal Vision. It was an on-line program at Challenger Middle School with a speech therapist from Chicago.
“In February of 2017 I moved into a part time position of accounts payable and purchasing where I work which is now full time.
“I have worked every campus in the District. My children have all gone through the Wilsona School District. I was grateful for the opportunity to work in the same district where my children went to school. It was an ideal job for a mom.”
In closing Nan expressed, “I am very appreciative of the classified vote. There are so many classified people here who deserve the vote. Classified are the people who get things done and deserve the recognition.”
