Liz McCormack Teacher of the Year 2022 Challenger Middle School

Lake Los Angeles – Chosen Teacher of the Year 2022 is Liz McCormack pictured here reminding her students every day about their goals - that they are coming after the world.

Liz has been teaching for 10 years, 7 of those at Wilsona School District, Challenger Middle School. She studied at Chapman University and the University of La Verne to earn her master’s in education.

Liz remarked about her school, “This school has amazing kids. What I see in these students is amazing. People who work here put their whole heart and soul into what they do for the school. We truly want these kids to know they can do whatever they want to accomplish.

“If people really want to know what’s truly going on here, please come to school, ask us; we will tell you everything, the good and what needs fixing.

“For every bad story you hear, there are dozens of good stories to be told. Kids are learning and being successful.

“This was a tough year because of Covid and being in school again. We have kids who suffered a lot of trauma. They get up and get here every day so we get up and get here every day and support them the best we can.

“I hope everyone can keep in mind that there are good people here that deserve the support of the community. We are planning for next year. No more Covid or anything else. We are in good shape!”
