Lake Los Angeles – A group of 41 resilient men and women from the Lake Los Angeles community convened at the Lake Los Angeles Senior Center for an important session focused on cancer awareness and education. Guests gathered to hear Ms. Rosie Mainella deliver a comprehensive overview covering several key aspects of cancer. Her presentation included explanations of why cancer occurs, the various types of cancer, how to recognize potential signs, methods for self-examination, available treatments and surgeries, and guidance on when to seek medical advice.

Rosie encouraged questions from her audience saying, When we ask questions we all learn more.”
The event centered on the theme of “being in the pink about cancer,” which encouraged both the wearing of pink attire and the taking of photos in front of a pink backdrop. This theme helped create a supportive and uplifting environment for all attendees.
