Visiting royalty were invited on stage to introduce themselves.
The individual awards were Friendship going to Kalli Perry, Community Service to Danielle Poirier and Photogenic to Riley Mellen.
The formal portion of the pageant followed with the impromptu questions. Following the emotional and tearful farewell to the outstanding dedicated reigning queens was the exciting crowning of the new 2022 royalty.
The young ladies involved in being a community queen for Lake Los Angeles make friends for life with their own court and the courts of other communities around the Antelope Valley. Their year as community queens is a year of community service which stands large and tall on their resumes.
Lake Los Angeles will be well represented by these young ambassadors. The community can be proud of them as they serve their community at home and attend functions throughout the Valley in the name of Lake Los Angeles.
Community service and community queens go together. Community service projects benefit everyone. It unites young people from diverse backgrounds to work toward a common goal thus building camaraderie and teamwork skills and attitudes at an early age. Through their year of volunteering, the Queens develop an understanding of community needs which naturally helps foster empathy and awareness.
The whole concept of Community Pageants is building a whole new generation of altruistically minded adults.
Go forth and change the world, strong young women!
