Lancaster, CA.-On Saturday, April 27th, Kaiser Permanente partnered with the CHP, DEA and multiple area non-profits – including Tarzana Treatment Center, Pueblo y Salud, Child & Family Center, Parents Anonymous, 2 Smart 2 Start and Change Lanes – for the 1st Drug Take Back Day of 2024.
Antelope Valley residents were invited to turn in expired or unused prescription drugs for safe disposal at no cost to them. They collected a total of 137 pounds of prescription drugs with 14 boxes!
Considering how little medications weigh, 137 pounds is a huge number of drugs that will not be mis-used or go into the sewer system or septic systems.
Another Take Back will occur in October. Watch for the poster.
Kaiser has a permanent box as well. Get those dangerous drugs out of your houses!
