Kaiser Permanente Antelope Valley Expands Chemotherapy and Infusion Center.

Lancaster, CA –– Kaiser Permanente Antelope Valley celebrated the expansion of its Chemotherapy and Infusion Center at the Butterfly Building (Antelope Valley Medical Offices) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today. The expansion, which adds four new therapy bays, aims to significantly reduce wait times for chemotherapy patients.

Completed earlier this year by repurposing a portion of the waiting area, this strategic addition coincides with the Butterfly Building’s 10th anniversary, reaffirming Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art care in a healing environment.

“Cancer has become more of a chronic disease in many cases, requiring ongoing care and dedication,” said Dr. Seyed Monemian, chief of oncology and hematology for Kaiser Permanente in the Antelope Valley.

“This demands significant support from our nursing team, pharmacy team, physicians, and the entire staff. The expansion of our chemotherapy and infusion center will allow us to better meet these ongoing care needs and provide enhanced support to our patients throughout their cancer journey.”

Designed with patient comfort in mind, each therapy bay in the Butterfly Building offers expansive views of the Antelope Valley desert from the third floor, creating a peaceful environment for patients undergoing treatment.

Steve Kissling, a Kaiser Permanente patient currently undergoing treatment for pancreatic and bone cancer, attended the ceremony with his wife, Liz. “This is a beautiful building. They gave us the top floor with all the good views, and the best part is the people who work here and take care of us,” Kissling said. He added, “Coming to chemotherapy is kind of like a little picnic. We get to see people that we’ve grown to know. We know that they care. We know little bits about each other’s lives.”

The expansion is expected to have a significant impact on patient care, reducing wait times and improving the overall treatment experience for Kaiser Permanente chemotherapy patients in the Antelope Valley area.

“I want to thank everyone who contributed to this opportunity,” Dr. Monemian added. “I really appreciate Area Medical Director Dr. Khodam Rostomian and our entire Medical Center Administrative Team for their dedication in making this expansion a reality.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marks another milestone in Kaiser Permanente’s ongoing efforts to enhance patient care and improve health outcomes in the communities it serves.
