JULY 1, 2022, LOW-INCOME TENANTS PROTECTED FOR NONPAYMENT OF RENT

Eligible LA County Renters Must Notify Their Landlord

Starting today July 1st , low-income tenants throughout LA County will regain protections from eviction if they can’t pay rent due to COVID-19. Low-income households in Los Angeles County will be protected from eviction for nonpayment of rent under Phase II of the County’s COVID-19 Tenant Protections Resolution.

To qualify for this protection, a tenant must be unable to pay rent due on or after July 1, 2022 and their total household income must not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). (For example, household income for a family of two cannot exceed $76,250, and for a family of four cannot exceed $95,300.)
