Juan Carillo appointed new chair of the Assembly Local Government Committee

SACRAMENTO-Assemblymember Juan Carrillo (D-Palmdale), representing Assembly District 39, issued the following statement regarding Speaker Rivas appointing him as Local Government Committee Chair:

"It is with great honor and excitement that I announce my appointment as the Chair of the Committee on Local Government by Speaker Rivas. I am thrilled to work alongside the Speaker in this new capacity.

With nearly two decades of invaluable experience, including as a city councilmember, city planner, and school board member, I bring a deep understanding of the intricate workings of local government and a strong commitment to serving the needs of our communities.

Throughout my career, I have been passionately involved in shaping policies that promote sustainable development, equitable access to resources, and community engagement. As Chair of the Committee on Local Government, I am committed to utilizing my expertise and leadership to address the critical issues facing our local communities.

My vision for this committee is to foster collaboration among local governments, stakeholders, and community members to create innovative solutions that will enhance the quality of life for all Californians. | firmly believe that by working together, we can build stronger communities, ensure affordable housing options, foster economic growth, and improve local governance.
