Jeters updates SVP Hubbart hearing

Hollywood - January 7, 2025 - Today’s placement hearing for the Pillowcase Rapist, Christopher Hubbart, just ended, and I am in shock. It seems that Judge Harrison is in an extreme hurry to push Hubbart out into the public, even beyond Liberty’s requests or expectations.
It appears that Hubbart could be released anytime from this Thursday through February 20. The judge only required 48 hours’ notice of his placement to the Housing Committee (consisting of select representatives from the Sheriff’s office, DA‘s office, Supervisor‘s office, and Liberty Healthcare), and then gagged them from telling anyone else.
Judge Harrison allowed even more lax restrictions than had ever been allowed on previous placements. He is allowing Hubbart to be placed on the property at 28800 Cruthers Creek Road regardless of whether the building and fire code violations have been addressed. He also eliminated search and seizure provisions after Hubbart’s release (which had always been in SVPs contracts before, that Liberty was allowed to search their residence at any time unannounced).
He barred law-enforcement from having any access to GPS or surveillance camera video without filing a request (I assume through him) and is willing to place Hubbart WITHOUT any fencing or security cameras, or anything else being done, based on Liberty’s promise that “24/7 security” would be watching him!
I know for a fact that that “security” amounts to some teenage kid with a guard card sitting under an umbrella in the driveway. They’re not allowed to interact with him or go into the house or anything else. They are only there to protect HIM from the community, not to protect the community from him.
And they are basically ordered to place him before February 20. Absolutely no modifications have been done to the house whatsoever. The demolition permit for the unpermitted structures was issued December 26, but nothing has been touched on the property. They sent someone out to measure for the fence, but also that has not been done. Many people who lived in Juniper Hills were unable to return to their homes after the Bobcat Fire due to building and safety restrictions that prevented them rebuilding what they had. The fencing restrictions are very specific in that area, as are dark skies and all other types of codes.
It has been suggested that Supervisor Barger might be able to file for an objection within 10 days with the court to potentially have his ruling overturned. I don’t know if that’s a possibility, but I have already reached out to Kathryn Barger’s office. I’ve also heard that rulings from this court are not subject to appeal by anyone, but that’s too horrifying to believe.
EVERYONE needs to reach out to our new District Attorney, Nathan Hochman, and to Supervisor Kathryn Barger‘s office specifically to let them know that this is completely unacceptable. They cannot fight for us if they don’t know what we want.
PLEASE also reach out to any and all of your local officials and legislators. You can find all of the contact information online. (I’ll try to compile a listing and post it as soon as I’m feeling a little better.)
We have got to STAND UP, STAND TOGETHER, and STEP FORWARD to fight this before they dump anymore Sexually Violent Predators on us.
