Houses passes $1.9T COVID relief bill, includes $1,400 stimulus checks

WASHINGTON -- The House passed a $1.9 trillion pandemic relief package early Saturday, 219-212, that includes $1,400 checks for most Americans and billions of dollars for schools, state and local governments and businesses.

The Democratic-controlled House voted 219-to-212 to pass the "American Rescue Plan." The package will now go to the Senate where it requires 51 votes to pass through reconciliation.

For now though, the House package still includes that federal minimum wage hike to $15-an-hour,
