Lake Los Angeles, Ca .- Residents can dispose of household hazardous waste and electronic waste for free between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at Vista San Gabriel School, 18020 East Ave. O in Lake Los Angeles.
The drive-through disposal event is hosted by Los Angeles County Department of Public Works and Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts.
Paints, solvents, household chemicals and electrical equipment will be accepted. “Sharps” such as hypodermic needles will be accepted, but will require exiting the vehicle to deposit them in a bin.
No explosives, ammunition, radioactive material, controlled substances, trash, tires or large appliances like refrigerators, stoves and washing machines will be accepted.
The event is open to Los Angeles County residents only. No business waste will be accepted.
The limit is 15 gallons or 125 pounds of waste per trip.
Waste should be in a sturdy box, and preferably in the original containers.
