LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA — The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, in collaboration with several county agencies, will host its annual Girls Empowerment Conference 2026 on Saturday, October 10, offering young women ages 12 to 18 an opportunity to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and connect with inspiring role models.

The free conference will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park.

Under the theme “Be the Impact!”, the event encourages young women to discover their voices, celebrate their strengths, and become positive changemakers in their communities.

Participants will have opportunities to engage with women innovators, educators, and trailblazers through educational workshops, panel discussions, and keynote presentations.

Activities and Opportunities

The conference will feature a variety of interactive activities designed to encourage creativity, personal growth, and social connections, including vision board creation, journaling, photo booths, live mural painting, keychain making, girls golf, and music provided by a DJ.

Breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be provided at no cost to participants.

County Agencies Join Forces to Support Youth

The event brings together the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, Department of Youth Development, Department of Public Health, Department of Mental Health, and Probation Department.

The conference is also promoted by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, including Supervisors Hilda L. Solis, Holly J. Mitchell, Lindsey P. Horvath, Janice Hahn, and Kathryn Barger.
