Freeway SR-14 Closures on Antelope Valley Freeway Through Lancaster

Lancaster, CA.—The City of Lancaster, acting on behalf of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), is scheduled to implement a series of essential Freeway Closures on the northbound Antelope Valley Freeway (SR-14) between Avenue K and Avenue I in Lancaster.

The construction work will take place from Monday through Tuesday, scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Closure Details:

• Dates: October 23, 2023, to October 24, 2023

• Location: Northbound SR-14 from Ave K to Avenue I

During the construction period, residents and local businesses situated near the freeway may experience noise, vibrations, and grinding associated with construction activities. To assist motorists during this period, detour signs will be prominently posted. It is important to note that delays are expected, and we strongly encourage all commuters to consider utilizing alternate routes whenever possible.

These closures are a crucial component of a comprehensive project aimed at converting the existing partial interchange into a full interchange, thereby enhancing traffic operations and creating more efficient connections to upstream and downstream interchanges. Specifically, a northbound off-ramp and southbound on-ramp are being added to improve overall traffic flow at Avenue J.
