Free, Drive-Thru Microchip Clinic Returns for Palmdale Residents

PALMDALE, CA – The City of Palmdale invites residents to drive up, roll down their windows and protect their furry companions at a free, drive-thru pet microchip clinic on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Poncitlán Square, 38315 9th St. East. The event is in partnership with Community Effort Animal Rescue and funded by Measure AV.

The clinic is designed for maximum convenience. Cats are welcome if they’re in a carrier and remain inside the vehicle. Accommodations are available for pet owners without a vehicle.

Microchipping is a permanent identification method for pets. Unlike collars or ID tags, which can fall off or be removed, a microchip is a rice-sized device that is implanted beneath the skin. Each carries a unique identification number that is linked to the owner through a national registry.

The event is open exclusively to residents who live within Palmdale City limits. For more information, contact Public Safety at 661-267-5234 or emailPublicSafety@cityofpalmdaleca.gov
