Free Disposal Day Set for Oct. 10 at Lancaster Landfill

LANCASTER, Calif. — Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, in partnership with Waste Management, will host a Free Disposal Day for residents of unincorporated Antelope Valley communities on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lancaster Landfill, 600 East Avenue F in Lancaster.
Eligible residents may dispose of up to one ton of trash at no charge, including furniture, appliances and other bulky household items. The event is limited to residents living in unincorporated areas of the Antelope Valley.
Residents must bring proof of residency, such as a driver’s license, and are asked to securely tarp their loads to prevent litter. Closed-toe shoes are also recommended.
Organizers said business waste, tires and household hazardous waste, including paint and cleaning products, will not be accepted.
Residents who need to dispose of tires, construction or demolition materials, or household hazardous waste can contact LA County Public Works at (888) CLEAN-LA for information about appropriate disposal and recycling options.
Illegal dumping can also be reported by calling (888) CLEAN-LA.
For additional information about Saturday’s Free Disposal Day, residents can contact Waste Management at (661) 947-7197.
The event is part of ongoing efforts to give residents convenient disposal options while helping reduce illegal dumping and keep Antelope Valley communities clean.
