Fatal Traffic Crash on Mount Emma Road

Palmdale, CA.- On May 8, 2026, at approximately 6:38 p.m., a two-vehicle head-on traffic crash occurred on Mount Emma Road, west of 87th Street East.
Preliminary investigation indicates an Infiniti G35 was traveling eastbound on Mount Emma Road when the vehicle crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Honda Pilot traveling westbound. It has not yet been determined why the Infiniti was being operated on the wrong side of the roadway.
As a result of the collision, the driver and passenger of the Infiniti sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel. Investigators determined that neither occupant of the Infiniti was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver and passenger of the Honda Pilot were airlifted to Antelope Valley Medical Center for treatment. Evidence recovered from within the Infiniti indicates alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor in this crash.
The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. This traffic crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Antelope Valley Area.
