LANCASTER, CA, The Antelope Valley Family YMCA is inviting the community to come together for a powerful day of connection, wellness, and support at its upcoming Healthy Families Day on Saturday May 9, 2026, a free event designed to uplift families and make health resources accessible to all.

Taking place at the YMCA in Lancaster, Healthy Families Day is more than just an event—it’s a reflection of what happens when a community shows up for one another. Families will have access to free health screenings, interactive activities, fitness opportunities and valuable local resources, all in one place.

This year’s event will feature trusted healthcare providers offering free screenings and guidance, including Kaiser Permanente, Antelope Valley Medical Center, High Desert Medical Group, Antelope Valley Partners for Health, and Bartz-Altadonna Community Health Center. These services are aimed at removing barriers to care and ensuring families have the tools they need to lead healthier lives.

“Healthy Families Day is about more than services—it’s about showing families that they are seen, supported, and valued,” said Cynthia Lathrop, Executive Director of the Antelope Valley Family YMCA. “When we bring trusted healthcare partners, local organizations, and fun activities together in one welcoming space, we help remove barriers to care and remind our community that health and hope grow stronger when we come together.”

The event will also include family-friendly entertainment, hands-on activities for kids, and opportunities for residents to connect with organizations that serve the Antelope Valley year-round. From preventive care to wellness education, every element of the day is designed to empower families with knowledge and support.
