Lake Los Angeles – The entrance to the egg hunt was so enticing and the children were such ladies and gentlemen as they waited their turn to enter. Going under the balloon arch was so exciting. Each child was given a bucket to gather their eggs and to keep as their own.

Wilsona School District’s Save the Children held their annual Springtime Celebration on Wednesday, April 13. The party opened at 12:00 noon with the Pre-K and K children. When Vista San Gabriel’s school day came to an end, the other grades came to the party.

This year, after 2+ years of Covid and drive thru only, was a walk-through event with various vendor stations offering services, information and family gifts.

After checking in and going to the very popular reading portion of the celebration with the Reading Machine from the Los Angeles County Library, the families formed a line, the children were handed their own bucket and in they went to a lawn covered solidly with colorful eggs to gather. There were adequate amounts of eggs to choose from.

Groups were formed so each child had an opportunity to safely gather their eggs with their parents, identify and discuss each color as a learning portion of the event. Each child was granted 10 eggs each, their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, then got their passport stamped to go on to the next event. The passports were created to make certain every child got to experience every station at the event and to have as a keepsake of their adventure.
