Disneyland Cancelling Annual Pass Program
Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are officially ending the annual pass program as the theme parks do not anticipate pre-COVID crowds for a while. The pandemic has negatively impacted nearly every industry, but the detrimental implications for theme parks and attractions are apparent. The Anaheim venues have been closed for a year, and though Disney spent all of 2020 lobbying to get the parks opened back up again,
In a statement, Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock said:
“We want to thank our Annual Passholders for their understanding during this closure period. Due to the continued uncertainty of the pandemic and limitations around the reopening of our California theme parks, we will be issuing appropriate refunds for eligible Disneyland Resort Annual Passports and sunsetting the current program. We are currently developing new membership offerings that will utilize consumer insights to deliver choice, flexibility and value for our biggest fans.”
Disneyland, along with many other Disney resorts around the world, initially shut down in March 2020 and was slated to re-open in July 2020. Unfortunately, spikes across California scrapped those plans as well. And it will cancel annual passes and replace them with a new program. Eligible annual pass holders will be issued prorated refunds
