City to Host Disaster Preparedness Presentation
PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale will host a disaster preparedness presentation on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 7 pm at Legacy Commons for Active Seniors.
This multi-agency educational event, presented in partnership with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.), and American Red Cross will cover how to prepare for disasters, including earthquakes, floods and wildfires. Each agency will outline its role in disaster response and offer advice on what residents can do to be prepared. Retired LA County Fire Department Captain Scott Polgar will be the featured speaker, sharing tips from his many years of disaster response. It’s never too early to prepare for a disaster, but it can be too late.
Attendees will have the chance to win a disaster preparedness kit and other door prizes. Light refreshments will be available. This event is free, but space is limited. Please RSVP at http://bit.ly/PalmdalePreparedness2023.
Due to construction on 10th Street East, access Legacy Commons, located at 930 E. Ave. Q-9, from 9th Street East.
