Palmdale, CA —The City of Palmdale is inviting residents with a sharp eye for finance and a commitment to community fairness to apply for an open position on the Mobile Home Park Rental Review Board. This is a unique opportunity for one public member to serve a two-year term, concluding in June 2028, and play a crucial role in the oversight of local housing space rent. Because this board handles complex financial considerations, the ideal candidate should possess a fundamental knowledge of business accounting, including experience with receivables, depreciation, capital expenditures, and profit and loss statements, while also maintaining a basic understanding of the Mobile Home Space Rent Control guidelines.  

To ensure a neutral and fair perspective, applicants must be Palmdale residents who are not currently residents or owners of a mobile home park. Furthermore, candidates cannot be employees of a park owner or hold any financial interest in a mobile home or park as defined by state law and the Palmdale Municipal Code.

The Board holds its primary annual meeting every February, scheduling additional sessions as necessary throughout the year to address community needs. This service is compensated at a rate of $100 per meeting for members, while the chair receives $150 per meeting. The successful applicant will be required to pass a Livescan fingerprint submission via the California Department of Justice and, upon appointment, will also need to file a Statement of Economic Interests, Form 700.
