City of Palmdale Road Construction Update.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE 

FOR THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 28 THROUGH DECEMBER 4, 2022 

GENERAL ROAD CONSTRUCTION: 

1.    Citywide Local Street Rehabilitation Project 

The City of Palmdale has contracted with Manhole Adjusting Inc. to implement the local road cape seal program which is currently under construction in various neighborhoods across the City. This is the final phase of a multiphase project and impacted residents will get a notice explaining the work phase and posted signs indicating street closures and/or parking restrictions. During the upcoming phase, there may be restricted access to your street and temporary traffic control may be in place while crews are working to adjust in-street utility covers and/or stripe the new street surface. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience while this important work is completed. 

2.    FULL CLOSURES – Q-11 from Sierra Highway to 9thStreet East and on 9th Street East from Q-11 to Q-12 

Full closures in the Civic Center area. Detours will be in place. Please slow down for the work zone and expect delays. 

3.    FULL CLOSURE - 10th Street East from Avenue R to Palmdale Boulevard 

Full closure of 10th Street East. Detours will be in place. Please slow down for the work zone and expect delays. 

4.    Marie Kerr Park 

Intermittent parking lot, parking space and walking path closures for Marie Kerr Park tree trimming. Please slow down for the work zone and expect delays. 

5.    Poncitlan Square

Intermittent lane closures on both sides of Avenue R for power pole relocations by Southern California Edison. Work includes daytime digging in the road shoulder to prepare for pole replacements as well as nighttime electrical construction and power outages. Please slow down for the construction zone and be cautious for nighttime workers. 

17. Tierra Subida from 5th Street West to Avenue R-8 

Lane Closure for power pole replacement on Saturday starting at 6PM. Please slow down for the work zone and expect delays.

Eastbound lane closure on Rancho Vista Blvd. for SCE power pole replacement on Saturday between 7am-4pm. Please slow down for the work zone and expect delays.
