City of Palmdale Road Construction Update

1 – Pearblossom Highway from the California Aqueduct bridge to Valley Springs Road

Full closure of Pearblossom Hwy. from the California Aqueduct bridge to Valley Springs Road for roadway reconstruction work, starting June 12, 2020 and continuing through February 2021.

While Pearblossom Hwy. is closed, passenger vehicles will be detoured to Avenue S at Sierra Hwy. and Fort Tejon Rd. Local access will be provided to residents in the construction area, as needed and as construction permits. Travelers/commuters are advised to expect delays and to take alternate routes where possible. Avenue R, Avenue S, Palmdale Blvd/SR-138, Avenue P, or Avenue M are alternate east/west routes through the City to consider.

Commercial trucks having a manufacturer’s gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or more must stay on designated truck routes, such as Sierra Hwy., Palmdale Blvd ./ SR-138, 47th St. East / SR-138, and Fort Tejon Rd. / SR-138 (see Title 10 of the Palmdale Municipal Code). Avenue S and Avenue R are not designated truck routes. Trucks are permitted on non-truck routes when it is the shortest and most direct route to perform a pickup or delivery. Closure of 40th Street East between Avenue Q and Palmdale Blvd for street work starting Wednesday, January 20th. Please slow down, obey the traffic control, and expect delays.

3 – Taintor Road from Delacour Drive to Hendon Drive

Single lane of flagged traffic control on Taintor Road between Delacour Drive and Hendon Drive for gas company utility work. Please slow down, obey the traffic control, and expect delays.

4 – 40th Street East north of Pearblossom Highway

Intermittent shoulder closure on the west side of 40th Street east north of Pearblossom Highway for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

5 – Windtree Court and Napa Way

Intermittent shoulder closure of the east side of Windtree Court south of Napa Way for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

6 – 40th Street east north of Avenue S-8

Intermittent shoulder closure on the west side of 40th Street East north of Avenue S-8 for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

7 – 37th Street east north of Avenue S-8

Intermittent shoulder closure on the east side of 37th Street East north of Avenue S-8 for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

8 – Avenue R east of Rotella Street

Intermittent shoulder closure on the south side of Avenue R east of Rotella Street for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

9 – Pearblossom Highway west of 33rd Street East

10 – Rancho Vista Boulevard west of 15th Street West

Intermittent lane closure of the number 3 lane on the south side of Rancho Vista Boulevard west of 15th Street West for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

11 – Avenue P-8 east of 25th Street West

Intermittent shoulder closure on the north side Avenue P-8 east of 25th Street West for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

12 – Rancho Vista Boulevard east of Resort Way

Intermittent shoulder closure on the south side of Rancho Vista Boulevard east of Resort Way for Landscape Assessment District tree trimming.

13 – Rancho Vista Boulevard east of Brisa Drive

14 – Avenue N-8 between Rancho Vista Boulevard and Bolz Ranch Road

15 – St. Clair Pakway

Intermittent shoulder closure on the west side of Sierra Highway between Palmdale Boulevard and Technology Drive for Parks tree trimming.

16 – Palmdale Transportation Center

Intermittent # 1 lane closure on Transportation Center Drive for Center Median tree trimming and intermittent parking lot # 3 closures of the PTC for Transit tree trimming.

17 – Rancho Vista Boulevard from 15th Street West to 30th Street West

There will be intermittent lane closures for various remaining street work. Please slow down, obey the traffic control, and expect delays. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

18 – Division Street and Avenue R
