City of Palmdale Hosts Virtual Youth Engagement Information Sessions for Parents

PALMDALE, CA — The City of Palmdale invites parents and families to attend a series of free virtual Youth Engagement Information Sessions this September to learn more about leadership, volunteer and community involvement opportunities available to local youth.

The sessions will provide an overview of City programs designed to help young people build leadership skills, gain valuable experience, connect with their community and discover new ways to get involved.

Programs highlighted during the sessions will include the iSERVE Youth Leadership Academy, iLEAD Youth Conference, Season of Service, Youth Volunteer Opportunities and Youth Ambassadors.

Sessions will be offered in both English and Spanish via Zoom. Spanish-language sessions will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15, and Wednesday, Sept. 30. English-language sessions will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, and Tuesday, Sept. 29. All sessions will take place from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.

The Youth Engagement Information Sessions are intended to help parents and families better understand the range of opportunities available for young people to participate in City and community programs. Youth leadership and volunteer experiences can help participants develop communication and leadership skills, build confidence, gain experience and form meaningful community connections.

Parents and families of youth in Palmdale and the greater Antelope Valley are encouraged to attend.
